CBM Training Club

be the girl that walks into the gym like she knows her shit.

To the woman who is putting off strength training because she feels intimidated and overwhelmed…

We need to address about the elephant in the weight room.

The strength training gender gap.

When a man first starts going to the gym, he usually has the privilege of group support.

He will show up and meet his friends for workout. In this safe and comfortable group setting, he gets the opportunity to observe how his more experienced friends operate gym equipment.

His friends will teach him how to do the basic exercises, and encourage his progress.

Men get to watch and learn while being surrounded by their friends.

Women don’t have that same privilege.

More often than not, when we decide to start going to the gym, we are doing it alone.

We have to learn how to use the equipment alone.

We have to learn how to do the exercises alone.

And that’s even if we can get out of the house and get to a gym to begin with!

this strength training gender gap is affecting our health and longevity.

Just a few short strength training sessions a week can result in significant health benefits.

  • Adding muscle mass helps build your strength and also benefits your immune system, increases insulin sensitivity and delays age-related muscle loss.

  • Women are more likely to develop osteoporosis than men, and strength training is one of the preventative actions you can take against that. Strength training increases bone density and reduces the risk of fractures.

  • Increased muscle mass helps support joint function and strength training can reduce the symptoms of arthritis.

  • Adding muscle mass to your body composition helps your body burn more calories at rest, making it easier to manage your weight.

  • Strength training also trains balance and flexibility, reducing the risk for falls and injury as you age.

Are we going to leave these benefits for the men? I don’t think so!

It’s time to get off the overwhelm express and onto the gains train where you can build confidence, competence, and consistency with your workouts.

What if you had all the same group support and workout instruction that men do when they first started strength training?

And I created this because of YOU.

You and women just like you have been in my DMs saying "I know I need to strength train but I just dont know how to get started."

You KNOW you need to start strength training. Yet, you’re still skipping the weights for the treadmill.

No shade. I used to do that too.

When I first started going to the gym, I had no fucking clue how to use the machines or move a dumbbell.

That section of the gym was also full of loud sweaty guys taking up mirror space.

The same guys that would check my ass out as I walked by, and therefore, the same guys I had no interest in being around.

I did know how to turn a treadmill on. So that’s where I lived for my first year of consistent exercise.

The treadmill was safe.

It was predictable.

It trained me for my first Nike marathon.

I ran 26.2 miles over the hills of San Francisco and walked away that day with a banana, a medal, and stress fractures.

This led to a LONG talk with my sports orthopedist on the importance of strength training for injury prevention. Not just for my athletic pursuits, but for lifelong health. For this, I am eternally grateful.

I went back to the gym the following week, in a cast AND a boot, and picked up my first dumbbell.

I haven’t looked back since and I won’t need to because my bones will be strong enough to withstand sports injuries in my 30s. Playing with my kids in my 40s. And preventing fall-related fractures in my 50s and beyond.

This was 10 years ago and I had to learn How to strength train on my own.

But you don’t have to.

I know CBM Training Club is going to change everything for you.

These are just some of the ways CBM Training Club is already impacting lives:

“Before CBM Training Club, I was very inconsistent in my workout routine. I would do some Ring Fit occasionally or go for a hike but nothing regular. I tended to go through bursts of motivation and then I would lose momentum and not workout for weeks or months.

I’ve been working out consistently for almost 8 months now! I really appreciated the rotation of workouts. I like the optional day and the flexibility to change the schedule reduced my guilt for skipping a day if my schedule didn't allow for it on the planned day.

I frequently check the videos to make sure my form is correct. Built-in warm-ups ensured that I actually warmed up properly instead of jumping right in. CBM Training Club really took all the guesswork out of it. The chat is nice to get updates, it makes me feel good to get a celebration when I complete a workout!”

— Alli S.

“I love this! I like being able to go at my own pace and choose what I want to do for the day. Don’t feel pressured which makes me want to do more!”

— Ashleigh M..

“I rarely did any sort of strength training. I was running regularly though. I was too nervous to explore in the gym and figure out how to train. I loved it! The app was so straightforward and easy to navigate. The workout plans were so easy to follow and I liked that I could do the workouts at home!”

— Taylor T.

“I’m a big fan of the app and how easy it is to use. Everything is very intuitive. When I get the gym I don’t have to think about anything but crushing my workouts. I also love how the program changes once a month. It’s just the right amount of time. Right when I start itching for a new program one shows up.”

— Morgan J.

“I love it! I used to be much more inconsistent. Mostly attended yoga classes or did hiking, but I wanted a structured weight lifting program. My consistency and confidence have definitely increased! With the demo videos workouts feel so fast, safe, and easy to get done! I felt really supported by the group chat and love being able to track my progress inside the app.”

You Have Questions, & I Have The Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! Your membership comes with both at-home and gym versions of every workout so that you can choose which version suits your needs!

  • There are 5 days of workouts per week. The programs include 3 strength training days and 1 optional conditioning circuit day. There will also be 1 "general cardio" day in the program.

All combined, this meets the minimum exercise guidelines set by the ACSM and CDC for healthy adults.

If you choose not to do the optional conditioning circuit day, you are encouraged to do another general cardio day in it’s place. This is great for runners who would like to swap out their cardio days for runs, or people who enjoy attending local fitness classes!

  • For the gym version, exercises are programmed with a commercial gym or well-equipped home gym in mind. Having access to a wide variety of dumbbells, plates, barbells, an adjustable bench, and a cable/pulley system will help you make the most of the program.

For the home version, it is recommended that you minimally have a pair of light, moderate, and heavy dumbbells, a set of resistance bands, and an exercise mat. For a more complete home gym, it is recommended to also have a sandbag and a pair of Lebert bars but makeshift weights can be made using a loaded duffel bag.

For either program, exercise and equipment accommodations can be provided within the group chat of CBM Training Club!

  • When you join the club, you will be invited to download the private CBM fitness app. All of your workouts, their demonstration videos, and the group chat are inside of this app.

The app is available on mobile and tablet devices, but not by desktop. The app also syncs with your Apple Watch, Garmin watch, or FitBit if you have one!

  • Your program will be available the Monday after your purchase date and new workouts will be delivered every four weeks after that. For example, if you join the club on a Sunday, your workouts will begin the following day. However, if you join the club on a Tuesday, the workouts will not begin until Monday. If you join mid-week and want to start immediately, simply email me and I can manually adjust your start date!

  • If you need substitutions to an exercise because you are missing or don’t have access to equipment, ask in the group chat! There are options to makeshift equipment or substitute any exercise!

If you need regressions to an exercise because you find it too difficult to safely perform, this is also a great question for the group chat! I will be able to offer regressions and substitutions that can be made within the app.

If you require extensive substitutions due to specific and individual circumstances, a custom program will be better suited to your needs. This is available inside CBM 1:1 Coaching.

  • You are free to cancel your CBM Training Club Membership at any time by emailing me! Your membership will be scheduled to end the day before your next payment becomes due. Click here to email me.
